Tanking up my time.....o-

"Hi, My name is Bill and I am an Addict.   My addiction of choice is "World of Tanks".  I have a problem!"

This runs through my head every time I speak to my wife, with her annoyed look on her face.

This has been going on since Mid 2011.  I was happy to play and work my way through a few different types of tanks, but have come to the point of getting some decent vehicles. But I now pay for my addiction.  I cant really see anything changing anytime soon.

With Grinding my way through tanks I didn't like and being an average player my stats are not great. I have change my focus to try and change this and have been focusing on Stats.  I think this has made me a little more careful in my game play and I have seen great improvement in my stats but I have a long way to go to get them back to a decent level.

DONALD FEATHERSTONE

Id like to pay my respects to Donald Featherstone on his passing. The true father to my gaming addiction.

I can remember as young boy finding his books at the local library. More so his rules for WW2 gaming.  This lead to the purchase of a lot of the Airfix 1/72 scale soldiers and some vehicles.  And from there things grew in scale.

Though over the years I have been in and out of the hobby, he more than anyone else has kindled the flame.

R.I.P.  Donald Featherstone.

Round 6

This game was classed as a draw.  The other guy had his miniatures stolen on the day of the game.

Round 5. 3 in a row.

Match notes
The Round 5 Game between the “Blood Bay Maple Leaves” and “The Stomp” was awaited with baited breath by both coaches and fans alike. I’m sure that the Elves were hoping that the Orc’s just held their breath instead.

The Day started off with fine weather but as the kick off drew close the heavens opened up and the rain came down in buckets.

Even with this draw back the Elves won the toss and elected to receive. With their supreme elegance, once gaining the ball the flanking players streamed down the field, while their poor brothers in the line of scrimmage had to deal with a cranky Troll and a couple of brutish Black Orc’s. Once again The Stomp lacked any ability to do any serious damage to any of the Elves. The Elves were looking for a quick score and thought that they had found an opening. Even in the rain the pass was perfect but the Receiver was unable to brake though and back tracked. He attempted to pass to an open player but the ball was intercepted by Stuffem, a Black Orc.

With the ball in the Orc’s hands they attempted to get into their scoring half but were not able to get past the half way line. The Elves defenders ran rings around them but were unable to strip the ball from The Stomp players. During this half The Troll spent a large portion of the half just picking its nose and watch the little dancing thingies that ran around him. 2 casualties were rendered though, one by the wayward Troll and the other by one of the Blitzer’s. (The Dice ran hot and cold for this half…)

With the coming of the second half the weather cleared and the Orc’s were to receive the ball. “The Stomp” knew that the “Blood Bay Maple Leaves” were too quick for them. So they tried to grind them into the ground, with only a modicum of success. With some luck and a fair amount of time the Orc cage had made its way through the Elves line and left them pummeled. Tonk strolled in the Touchdown with only two turns left for the Elves.

On receiving the Ball the “Blood Bay Maple Leaves” players didn’t give up the Orc’s stopped one side of the field though. But 2 Elves made it close to their scoring end but were held up and unable to get the ball to the player that had the best chance of scoring.

“The Stomp” 1 def. “Blood Bay Maple Leaves” 0.

Round 4. On a roll.

I didnt take any photos for this game.

Match notes
With the punishing heat on game day, it didn’t deter the crowd attending the game between The Stomp and the Gastly One's.
With the Skaven winning the toss they elected to receive. They showed there class and agility by making a near unstoppable drive and Malek the Gutter Runners trotted in a TD on their second turn. At the end of the drive several players collapsed on both sides from the heat.

With the next kick off both teams replaced the downed players from their reserves. Once the Orc’s received the ball they didn’t show any where near the smooth moves of the Skaven had and literally tripped over their own feet. With a large scrum forming in the middle of the ground the ball tumbled free and was scooped up by Warugnar the Blitzer. But this seemed to be missed by the skaven who seemed to be focused on the mass of struggling players. This allowed Warugnar to sneak away and steal a touchdown in the last turn of the 1st half.

The weather was still a scorcher and had taken more of a toll on the players. Gnarl the troll sat out the whole second half with the cooling vest on. But the punishing game that the Orc’s were playing was taking more of a price for the Skaven with only having  9 players to start the second half.

With the Orc’s receiving they were able to control the ball right up to 2 squares from the End Zone were Tonk was caught by a Lineman and a Gutter Runner. The ball bounced free and was picked up by a passing gutter runner who was not quiet fast enough to get away and was knocked down and the ball was free again. Warugnar the Blitzer was able to get to the ball and pass it to Terenya who had scrambled into the End zone in the Orc’s last turn for The Stomp’s 2nd TD.

The Games was quickly wrapped up with  2- 1 win to the Stomp.

Mbbl Round 3

Now dont get confused the Orcs are going to the left, I just turn my players around so I know they have moved. And Yes the Troll does have the ball and heading for the TD........

These last 3 pic's are from the last couple of turns before the end of the match.  My Thrower has the ball and looks very vulnerable with the Centaur.

Match Report:
The game between the “Hashut Horders” and “The Stomp” was always going to be an interesting game.  And it didn’t disappoint.  With a large turnout for the game of 32,000 fans and with fantastic weather for the game they were remarkably well behaved for once.

The Chaos Dwarves won the toss and elected to kick.  I’m sure hoping to get a quick turn over.   In a remarkable turn of events the ball landed in the line of scrimmage and was caught by Gnarl the Troll. A bit befuddled with what to do with it apart from using as a weapon his team mates tried to point him in the right direction.  The Chaos Dwarves formed a formidable line and was unbreakable for the first quarter.  The Dwarves were able to knock the Orc’s about a bit but their fallen bodies got in the road of any true breaks in the Orc’s cage.   Late in the 2nd quarter the line was broken and Gnarl trotted for the open back field and ran it in for the TD just before the half time break.  But with one last drive before the half the Dwarves almost pulled off a 1 turn TD with the help of a quick snap, bad field placement by the Orc’s, only a fumble by the Centaur stopped them from running into the end zone and scoring.

The second half was were the Horders regrouped to receive the ball and pushed The Stomp players around and made a break down the wing.  Yurg the Lineman had a chance to tackle the hobgoblin ball carrier Dandelion but fell flat on his face.  Dandelion strolled in for a 2 turn TD.

The Stomps received the next kick and hoped to create a cage, but once again the Horders went straight for the ball carrier.  Things looked bad but Tonk the ball carrier was able to keep his feet as Daisy Hater the Centaur went for him.   With the Horders converging on the Stomps thrower, Wranngah the Blitzer was able to find some space after a Black orc placed his opponent in to the crowd of screaming fans.  Tonk wasn’t able to throw directly to any player but aimed for space so Wrannagh could run on to it.  The Horders where out of position and with some very unlucky roll’s wasn’t able to get near the Blitzer who ran it into the end zone and scored just as the game came to a close.

The Stomps fans praised Gork for the win and the Hashuts Hoarders looked to their gods in disbelief.  Nuffle truly had a hand in this game.

MBBL Round 2

Match Notes:

The Crowd was expecting a lot of biffo in the game between "The Stomp" and "Sultans of Sth'ss Tor". Two Large and powerful teams.

Both teams put up a tough defense which did make it difficult for the smaller players on both team to squeeze through. The Sultans skinks were hard to put down even for one of the Stomps Black Orcs who rolled Double skulls twice. That and a rampaging Korxigor opened a sizable hole for a light footed skink late in the the first half to hand off the Sultans Journey man skink for the one and only TD for the game.

The Second half The Crowd grew restless and an unknown assailant took out a Saurus.(Police description mentioned he was green skinned and heavily muscled. But this could have been a supporter from either team.)

The Stomp tried to capitalise on the numerical advantage and looked like they were going to equelise but a fumbled catch stopped them from scoring. The ensuing scramble for the ball and who was carrying it ground down both team but ended really any chance for the Orc’s to equalise.

A win for the "Sultans of Sth'ss Tor".

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A 1 - Nil win to the Sultans.  I would have been happy with the draw though.  I'm starting to think I might be a jinx to my teams that I play with apart from my Dwarfs.

Another Blood Bowl season has started.

Season 7 has begun.  Now I havent taken any photos at this stage.  Mainly because I havent finished painting my Orc team "The Stomp".

My first match was against Siwan Shufflers a Khemri Team.  Who by the won the award last season for being the "Most Brutal"

Now I did have 110 I think in inducements. I ended up with 2 Budwiser Babes.

Now I took this from the match notes from our game report.

"Match notes
The Shufflers' fans were struggling to contain their impatience over the off-season. One particularly exuberant follower tossed a well-aimed pebble badly hurting a Black Orc just as the opening kick-off took place. Almost immediately after, The Stomp's troll was knocked out, leaving them two men down and dangerously out-strengthed.

The Shufflers could not capitalise immediately, with the Thro-Ras fumbling the ball in the backfield for 5 turns, before finally moving the ball forward. A last turn TD allowed the Khemri to breathe (er... or whatever the undead do) a sigh of relief at half-time

The second half saw a particularly bad turnover leave The Stomp struggling to contain the khemri. A second TD followed, and to add insult to injury, a ridiculous third touchdown was scored in the final turn of the game.

----
You'd think a 3-0 loss to Khemri would mean you played badly, but the reality was Billo did little wrong, and I had an extraordinary game. Last turn TD involved a Blit-Ra pick-up, hand-off and three GFIs. Didn't even need a reroll."

Yes! for the first half I was a Black orc and a Troll down from the get go against 4 Mummies and a +Strength player!!!  My previous 5 seasons luck has followed on to the new season.  Yes, you can laugh.........

By the end of the 1st half I had another 2 in the Ko Box.  And by the end of the second half I had another BH and 2 more back in the Ko Box again.

Now I must admitt that I have made some silly choices and my rolling has been ordinary but I wish the goblins I have in my team to stop taking the MVPs...
