First attempt at weathering

I wanted to try new techniques that I really haven't tried before.

I bought 2x 1/48 airspeeders, which were more like 1/60-1/72 but still nice models. So I decided to make one into a terrain piece or an objective marker.  This is a WIP at the moment.

The falcon I picked up as well from a toy store whish will get painted at some time as well.

28mm obstacles

Terrain is always important to most games but more so for skirmish games.  I want to do a lot more terrain for Modern and or Sci-fi settings.

I'm a big WW2 fan, drawn in by many movies I watched as a kid in the 70's and 80's.

Here are some Generic obstacles and hopefully more to come.

Battletech Map moving forward

Another project that has been on the back burner was the 3d Battletech map.  Now its not 3d printed but I would like one but all done by hand so far.

I haven't done any rivers or lakes but its all testing at the moment.  I was concerned about putting acrylic paint on the foam matting but added PVA glue to help with adhesion. Not exactly happy with the map paint job but passable.

I highly recommend the Coarse Pumice Gel I found for the cliffs. I think they came up well. and it slightly strengthens the foam.

Long over due project finished

As all gamers/hobbyist know that we can get easily distracted, by many things such as other projects, games and of course Real Life. Currently I have been sitting around the house and trying to get back into the hobby side and trying to finish long standing projects. And my wife has tried he hardest to stop me. hehehe...

So there are a couple of things I have found.
1. I cant sit down and paint for more than 15 minutes otherwise I get a sore back and neck. I do have plans for a stand up desk though.
2. I cant be out of my wife sight for more than 10 minutes before she asks me to do something else.......
3. I find it hard to sit down and finish a project fully.  I'm never satisfied with what I've done.

But here is one project.

These have been sitting half done for somewhere between 6 to 8 years.  Look they are not fantastically painted like I see everyone else's but I think the are table worthy.

These guys are the old Games Workshop Bretonnian Archers from 5th Edition I believe.  I still have a few floating about but I wanted a unit of some sort if I ever play a rank and file game again.

Thanks for looking. :)
