Tasty Terrain

I saw this biscuit mold online and I instantly saw Industrial buildings for Battletech. But seeing the size I will use them in some sci-fi skirmish games as well.  I cant wait to see how the come out.

A friend suggested every time you capture and objective/building we get a cookie! But the only thing is that my wife saw it and said they would be great looking ice-block (Due to summer starting shortly)  So I may have lost it already.

The colourful buildings are some 3D printed. They need a little sanding. And I got my hands on Monsterpocalypse Powerplant.  I had seen these and wondered how they would scale for Battletech, its a little smallish but its ok.

The Black foam is a Tau Powerplant from Micro Art Studio. Im not sure how I will proceed to paint this due to being foam but It was on Sale and will look good on a table.

*the Russian Infantry man is for scale. 28mm..........

My terrain is slowly expanding

I found the trees very easy to damage due to handling with the flocking falling off.  I tried a Mix of Water and PVA to try and make the bond stronger and it seems to have worked ok. We will see.

Just added some Crates and shell craters to the small but growing collection of terrain.

Some more Russians WIP

Some Combat Engineers and a Commander, close to finished but some touch ups and then to finish all the bases.

The Russian are coming

My Russian army has been on the back burner for at least 6 years. I have wanted to try and at least get a painted army finished. I pretty happy with these guys but a lot of room for improvement definitely table top ready. Well apart from finishing the bases and varnish.

Once again sorry for the crappy photos.

The Zombies are getting closer................ to being finished.

Mantic Zombie bodies with Westwind German zombie heads.  Hopefully used for a range of games at some stage. Very dynamic posing. a couple of Warhammer zombies as well to break them up but not as good as the mantic.

The skin came out really well. the camo not so much. there was also a brown wash at the end to bring it together.  Really easy to do. Base colour then a redish wash once dry the purple wash then a light dry brush with base colour then a brown wash to bring it all together.

Terrain is the order of the day

Still not feeling up to painting miniatures at the moment so I have continued with terrain,

So a mix of things that have been sitting around for a while. All at different stages.

The frog statue is an old kids bubble toy but I thought it would make an interesting piece.

Mistakes were made....

With all this time I have on my hands with Covid, I've have wanted to try this for a long time.

Making molds for terrain.

Now I bought a starter kit.  It was pretty simple after a bit of research.  But I did make a couple of  mistake that effected the silicon molds. One was what I used for a release agent, It was a spray on oil for cooking which I had seen others use but it may have gone on to thick even though I wiped off as much as I could. So I think I lost some detail because of that. One other mistake was that it wasn't sealed tight so there was some leakage.

But all is not lost, you live and learn and I will try again.
